Role of a Comedian

So Elizabeth Banks just posted this article on comedy on her Twitter..... I read it n its great n everything.. but it got me thinking....... What is the role of a comedian? ..... B/c the comedian goes on to explain his 'bombings' n stuff like that... How his observations on life- didnt always come across 'funny'........ which got me thinking......... Are they supposed to ? (Always)....... I think not. 99% of What George Carlin said...... was an observation on life/ history what have you..... and something I learned from, and while some of it happened to be funny (downright hysterical of course)...... a lot of it I was just learning from. A new way of thinking if you will. And thats not always supposed to be funny........ So today, April Fools, I ponder the role of a comedian..... and maybe its not all supposed to funny..... b/c more than a comedian.... (I see)- comedians..... as life coaches. Their perspectives always so refreshing and insightful- the best of 'em....... its not always spose to make you laugh.... N thats ok! ;) Words today.
