Christmas..

no other holiday, inspired/has inspired so much music/so many bands, to write songs..about a (holi)day. what other holiday has done this???? dont get me wrong..i love it..i love it all, but it's just kinda, kinda like a whole nother genre of its own-the 'Christmas album'. like an artist has reached their pivotal point..a certain point..when they can put out, a christmas album..it's definitely a certain mile marker of its own. i wanna hear an artist reinvent this, 'holiday-inspired' music..and put out..an 'Easter album'..or whatever. i do love hearing new bands/artists doing traditional holiday music..i do love that, and i do love original holiday material as well. (eh hem, Sufjan).

it'd also be interesting to see an artist get 'big' off a christmas album. (like this is never a debut for anyone)..that i know of

A Cover..

a cover should elevate a song, take it to another place..be that genre,or tempo, or what have you..cover for cover's sake is no cover at all
