'Driver's seat'..............................

the only place i can see myself being in the driver's seat is..........................................in a music publishing/journalistic company. CEO etc.....a record label perhaps. i believe in my opinions/feelings that much. In no other arena do i really wanna be 'in charge'. Except maybe writing (sketch comedy).

so...........................................Bjork once said, how it's her 'life's mission'-to create the 'perfect song'. N how she's only got about 50 yrs. left to try...i guess she was around 30 at the time....................................................what's funny is....................................................i feel like she was closer (then)-than she is now. (just heard 'Moon'-off biophilia on npr all songs)

Reggaeton n 'Nu' reggaeton

theres a lot of shitty reggaeton out there.........................................in fact, by mention of it-most ppl cringe. -but however, there is SOME, and i mean SOME, reggaeton out there...................................thats just BEAUtiful. i mean really lush beats. zion y lennox, is among them. their song 'me desvelo'. and a lot of don omar----'danza kuduro' of course, and i really like 'taboo'. don omar (to me)-is some of the most 'sophisticated' reggaeton out there. all the rhythms, n counter-rhythms. so complexly detailed. it's like this beautiful crochet of beats-all perfectly seamed together. i appreciate the blow whistles in his music/in that music all together. i'm also all over omega, si te vas......especially the bonus track remix one. it's really good-with the brass n all.


currently listening to:Katy Perry 'last friday night'----i really do like it. i wanna remix it.

i definitely see myself (in addition to 'music producer')-as a 'music archaeologist'---constantly digging digging digging. as of late(ly)-i've been over in the middle east-digging for their strings-so gorgeous-so lush.

also, romania-their electro-pop has me *swooning*.

I'm teaching myself................................

i'm teaching myself-how to listen 'only once'. ----i believe, a song's life--is just that (has a shelf life)---and, there comes a point, u can 'no longer listen'. much the same way i 'OD' on songs (all the time)....................there comes a point u 'dont hear the song anymore'-just noises. it doesnt do anything for u anymore-it doesnt nourish. i constantly have to 'fight' this.........(its a conscious thing)--and know my limits. know when 'enough is enough'-and to 'turn the song'. i have to remind myself to do this almost everyday-even when its a good song. i dont wanna spoil it for later.

listening to: aol indie rock mix---(prime example Adele 'rolling in the deep'--which i just turned...ha!)

'Visualizing music'..........................

so, for a while now ive had these ideas swirling in my head-regarding 'visualizing music'. among them-a 'music map'-thats still in the works.

today-i had the idea of-much like media players-graphics n so forth-i want to do that-but on a more 3D scale-----like, the background sax in the back, bass in the middle and so on............i want to-i have this obsession with 'visualizing music'-to the nth degree-to the extreme-to the 'verbatim'---basically-sheet music for (music)--but with shapes/graphics--in 3D.....i'm sure there is already something like this...but..................it's (become)-an obsession of mine.

dance is the best way to 'see music'.
