this sounds melodramatic..but..to me, 'Ys' is the holy grail of music. she is the sound of dreams...

this does NOT mean i am looking forward to the album. as i've said before, i'm not. this also does not mean i wish her to stop making music. just..no real high expectations or anything. i honestly have no idea where you go after an album such as 'Ys', but this 'kingfisher' one is definitely sounding like an extension of it..

okay so right now, i am checking out the new joanna ('kingfisher')......it's actually against my principles to hear an album before its release. i'm a bit old-fashioned like that, but, drag city did post it, so i let myself once. i dont think i will again but..i admit, i'm pretty speechless.

The Residents

learning about the residents..they remind me of Swans, hmm

so..i dont normally put up these types of posts..i just dont. but tonite was sort of an 'epiphany' night for me, and it must be stamped (via this blog). see, after college, has been one of the most confusing/nerve racking times of my life. i dont see that acknowledged much, but i'm admitting it. it's a scary time to be frank..lots of mystery..dont get me wrong, i've had a lot of fun, very fortunate who i've gotten to see (bands etc.), etc. etc. but as far as my personal life goes..well, i wont get too personal. lets just say, i've had a moment of clarity tonite (by accident no less)..and i'm feeling focused and hopeful. you really do have to go at the beat of your own drum, almost consciously sometimes. where happiness/sanity before came naturally, now is a choice many times. okay i'm rambling now..had to get that off my chest. i'm thankful, always..

i wont lie. Phoenix is one of the most REFRESHING bands to come around in awhile..(i'm finally listening to the rest of 'wolfgang..')

this restored my hope in SNL..strong beginning, then started to suck..i really think this has a lot of potential though and should be expanded on:

omg..so i was just reminded of this song..ugh. i never want to hear it again..it's 'mon manege a moi' by etienne daho..i can never listen to it again, very personal reasons. but just had to list, i had almost totally forgotten about it (and was reminded by accident)..but i encourage everyone else to check it out! thats goin in the vault for me, maybe when i'm 50 or 60..

Snow and 'Psychic' Happenings (yes more..)

so, there's about 3ft. of snow outside my house! it's awesome i love blizzards, we havent had this much since like '95 i think. anyway, just a couple more random 'psychic' incidents as of late:
so at work a few days ago, someone asked 'whos that band disco something?'..i said disco biscuits, but alas they were referring to panic at the disco..a couple days after, just like the other day, i get the ticketmaster newsletter..guess who's coming...yes, discobiscuits...whaaaat..! THEN, recently ive been reading about this british pop singer vv brown, i got curious what she sounded like so checked her out yesterday, then last nite (like HOURS after i check her out), itunes puts up a feature on her as their free single thing or whatever...kinda weeeirrd, these things KEEP happening. theyre little but still. am i a music psychic??

also, i have an 'entrepreneurial' idea. i've had it for awhile, it involves iPods, more later.

in dj terms i dont know what you call these, but i call them 'polka dot beats'..those background consistent beats that 'twinkle' almost, or 'twinkle' beats..oh hell i dont know..just when i hear it, i see stars/'twinkling'..i really like this beat!
