I had a dream about you last night. (You got married!).......... N.......... a documentary was made about your band, We Run----- called 'Double Take'. - It addressed (your)- issue of - doing band rehearsals/ practicing...... or................ seeing your wife's kids, spending time with them..... I remember distinctly the footage- you all were playing in fields- reminiscent of Madison County. I dont know where you were though. It was a vivid dream, n..... (an interesting looking documentary- to say the least). - I thought the title was apt, as you were constantly faced with these 2 (main) decisions..... Anywho- I miss you, n I miss your music, n.......... (you know this!). I dream, of the day, you can come down here n play a show. I'm having withdrawals..... (really). You guys will be on tour soon, xO! mwah. tara

Alex's EP is now on iTunes! as of yesterday..i bought it:) it sounds great! his producer has really transformed these songs, especially 'stop letting me go'. hooray for 'Hey Katy Hey'!

Motel Motel..

so, lately i've been listening to a lot of 'motel motel'. it's a merkaba bandits song that alex sort of redid/took solo, but i'm preferring the early version..ive found i have a lot of thoughts on his music..not sure why. i guess overall i just think the bandits stuff (his harder stuff) is his strongest. it's weird talking about him in the 3rd person like this, my friend..but i try to be as honest w/this blog as possible and this happens to be what i'm mulling over at the moment. the new version is pretty much the same, only my problem w/it is it feels rushed. i feel kinda stupid, b/c there's no way for anyone to know what the hell i'm talking about right now, i guess i'm basically thinking out loud, i've had this in me for awhile..anyway, the new demo feels rushed. i prefer the old one by FAR. but who am i, thats just my opinion, i guess it's b/c i love the song so much i hate to see it redone, only to not progress it..anyway, yeah he's, in the name of pop, i guess he's lost something, i mean..i just find myself jamming out to the early stuff more..i miss the punk aspect (I MISS BANDITS SHOWS!). nothing against pop, it's just what he did best, to me:) dont get me wrong though, his solo shows are a blast, i'm just reminiscing right now

yes so i saw some shows lately like back to back..first was the sounds 2 mondays ago (3rd time), day after was the ettes/juliette lewis show, and last tues. was my friend alex's show, and i've lost count of how many alex shows ive been to..juliette lewis is a ROCKSTAR. i'd go see her again any day and i recommend anyone to also. i really only went for the ettes and ended up loving her. good past couple weeks for shows!

Merkaba Bandits

aww so i just came across this..it's my friend Alex's old band, an interview. how i miss Bandits shows!

sidenote: these were some of the best shows i've been to. i'm not just saying that b/c he's my friend. this interview is when they moved to san diego, but how i'm glad they came back! and i know he'll be off again soon..speaking of, he's recording some more of his solo stuff today and i cant wait to hear it!

Dream Covers-extension

so in my first 'D.C.' post, i listed my friend Alex..I'd love to hear him cover Serge Gainsbourg (still do, not really sure why). well, i was listening to ra ra riot on my walk, and got to thinking that that'd go on there too ('Can You Tell'). i'd really love to hear his take on those. i'm sure there's a host of others, but those are the 2 coming to mind immediately. Oh! and Santogold..

In a perfect world, I would run a label. and who knows maybe one day i will, but for now this will have to do.
