so there are like a handful of albums that do this, but very few...well, i finally bought David Garza (This Eurphoria). i am obsessed w/him lately. but anyway, like i was saying there are just a few, but the ones that come to mind first, have sentimental value beyond words. they immediately take me back to my teenage years, when all me and my sister did was obsess over music.

1. The Cranberries-To the Faithful Departed..i hear this, and immediately i am sitting on a bunk w/my sister laughing and blasting this. and also joy riding to this.
2. The Cranberries-'Everybody else is..'
3. David Garza-This Euphoria..finally just bought it. again, sitting w/my sister in her bedroom listening to this casette going 'OMG!!????!!!!'
4. Romeo and Juliet soundtrack, No Doubt's Tragic Kingdom
but especially especially Cranberries' 'To the Faithful..' its hard to describe. oh and La Bouche! ('be my lover')-ocean city memories!!

And on another note, i went on an iTunes shopping spree this morning. well, like i said i finally got david garza stuff, dont know what the hell took me so long..then this morning i bought a few off Jenny Lewis's 'Acid Tongue', Marianne Faithfull's cover of 'Ohh baby baby' w/antony, Paolo Nutini 'No Other Way'..yeah i'm all over the board..Jenny's i'd been meaning to since it came out, Faithfull's i meant to get her 'hold on' cover and got this, paolo i just heard on satellite and was like??!!! this song really showcases his voice in another way omg. oh and dirty projector's 'stillness is the move', heard on aol radio last nite..i think i wanna get the whole album now.

i am in missing mode..in fact, i have been for quite awhile. like, yeah there's newer stuff by him (david garza) but what about now what is he doing now?? where'd he go? where'd tom vek go? where'd bic runga go? here is a list of those artists i am missing and wondering about most, now that i think about it..

ok now i realize some of them are still doin their thing, but i listened to bic's newer stuff ('Birds') and it's just not doin it for me. hmmmm tom vek is the main one right now. theres zilch. i check his forums etc. religiously. ive basically scoured the internet and still come up w/the same thing (he cont. to work on the follow-up). my patience grows thin....but i think of him often.

..so i suppose this list is a wish, of artists i hope to see come back (strong) or just come back at all..i'm sure there are more..will add as i think of them.

David Garza

soo, i am just now remembering the sounds of David Garza. just came across someone w/the last name Garza..anyway, my sister introduced me to him many years ago, i think in '98. she heard him on college radio. we were actually talking about him the other day now that i think about it. anyway, he had this song 'disco ball world' that we were obsessed with, then he kind of vanished, but i did a search and he has some new stuff that i'm really digging!..how'd i miss this!! it's from '08 apparently..yay, hopefully a new tour!?
