Dear Electric Guest aka 1st post of 2017!

I just finished listening to your new album "Plural". It is no "Mondo" yet I enjoy that you took the sound in another direction.

Any one of these three songs should be your next single (if not, next 3 singles) : "Back n Forth", "Oh Devil" and/ or "See the Light" which to me is an almost perfect song.

I enjoyed "Sarah" minus the chorus. For all the songs above mentioned I found them to be near perfect but no cigar but still really strong so like, if I had to choose the next single(s) those would be it I guess time will tell my predictions. Kudos this album is very lacking and not good in some regards and very good and inventive in others. To me, you are doing some of the best work out there and while it isn't a TON of great work it is still some great almost masterpiece work. "Mondo" definitely holds some of your finest masterpieces. I hope to see you all live one day I am so excited for your band and the things you are doing!!!!! xoxo tara

PS. I heard "Dear To Me" a while ago and ADORE IT. Probably the best song on here xo!

Enjoy, which is a Bjork title

Do you have to know every ingredient in the chocolate bar or whatever in order to enjoy it? NO! you just enjoy it, thats sort of how i listen to music. i don't have to know what every lyric means or the poeticism going on necessarily. thats the intellect.

An initial music listen anyway should be purely visceral, just reactionary. how does it make you FEEL? don't try and dissect and over analyze the shit, did you enjoy it or did you not? Did the chocolate taste yummy? Then go and do your dissecting and reading down the ingredients and nutrition facts list if you want...

I see all these people in my Joanna Newsom facebook group like little investigators 'Oh I know what this line means!!' like doing this detective work. Thats fine and all but that is not how I listen to music especially her. Her music takes you on to a nother level, it is transcendental , it is indeed... otherworldly and I'm not sure she comes from Earth.

Anyway, just a reminder to take music on surface level first, do take it first for face value and whether or not you simply like or don't like how it sounds then go from there. Maybe one day I'll analyze all her lyrics but, I'm still too busy enjoying and digesting them to get that far. I question if she even wants you to understand all the little riddles weaved within. The inside joke sometimes is for a chosen few.

Also, nothing against these people who do, but I read along the lyrics to the song and they are beautiful and it doesnt bother me if I don't understand it 137% or whatever. A little mystery is good

Sex 'n Song structure

There is a definite relationship between sexual activity.... and, a song's structure. I/ we've all known this I suppose but.... the more I go along working on my own songs and mostly, improvised song structure, I realize this fact more closely. It is indeed..... like a fact, a strange almost scientific reality and it's kind of fascinating to me.

For me personally, a pattern I have noticed in my own songs is....... a very long build. Much like a house song. Very very long sort of intro build. The climax/ burst of the song maybe comprises like 2% or something very small but packs a big big punch. Then theres the cool down. So its like, crescendo= 90% of the song, climax= like 2 or 3% and resolution the remaining 7 or 8%. It's just an interesting pattern I am noticing as I go along working on my own music. None of which is deliberate by the way, purely accidental. I improvise and do almost all my stuff 'impromptu' style and it very typically just turns out that way a lot! :)

Beats

Percussion/ beats is 1 of most xploited music components. i have a theory ppl use them as a 'defense mechanism' almost n not to enhance the song necessarily, to its fullest. Several songs stand on their own, without beats that are in a way, ruined by beats. Beats are powerful and can make a song and in other cases..... destroy one.

Never ever lay beats for the sake of it! Rather, is the song calling/ asking for them? Let the core, the honesty of the song guide that decision and be loyal to it. Beats for the sake of beatz..... is an evil most poisonous evil of the world. Do not abuse beats.

Joanna Newsom

Joanna Newsom i conclude, is a modern day Shakespeare. She uses words from English i have never heard before sometimes n then manages to............ RHYME THEM??????????? it would be a tragedy to take any one of her songs for granted. i predict a writer like her won't come along....... maybe ever again, not in my lifetime anyway. JoannaTheGreat

Natural Beats

Reworking an indie singer's song this morn.. teaching him the power of patience n to wait for the beat, let it evolve in to the song naturally, DO NOT FORCE IT
