N so continues my Guitar obsessioN.....

......... this represents my (continued)- guitar (obsession). its my newest kt tunstall song favorite. theres definitely a yin n yang at work here................. ( i cant tell u how good it feels- to hear guitars again)................... (after- u know, all that punjabi/ bhangra)................... (which i still listen tO !!!!!)

....... ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh: it feels good to hear guitars again (i wont lie). this has been since........... last wk? idk- something like that.......... its felt realLy good to hear guitars again. so this is one of the songs i found scribbled on a piece of paper- cleaning monday. it was this, n 3 others. theyre all... (happen to all)- be acoustic/ guitar songs......... i dont think thats any coinicidence, as i think, my body's been craving (guitar music). what with all this punjabi/ bhangra........ (it was time for some guitars)- n i think it was my body's way of (telling me that). anywho- feels good! i really like this song- just a solid alt/pop guitar song- nothing special- but i really like it!

More on my 'Middle Eastern' -transformation.........

i think music, in its 'ultimate'- 'ending' form......... is this. (is Punjabi/ Bhangra). However you want to categorize it. I think this is where music 'ends up'. 'Becomes'. The 'arrival point destination'. That is Punjabi/ Bhangra to me- that is how powerful I find it/ have found it to be.. I have been moved in a way- (by genre)- like never before. I think there's nothing past this 'form', this is where music 'ends up'. (there's no 'improving' it after this). This is the 'final destination' point. And until I hear something that has moved me as (so)- this will be it. I declare.










This musical structure i would like to see 'mapped' out- visually- a million things are going on- and how interesting and fascinating it would be, to 'see this'. To see all these 'inner-workings'- of the music. This is (also) where my music map comes in (to play). I will dream of this til the day I die.





(if i'm lucky- i'll get to 'make it'- see it in existence).

i was on iTunes- checking out some bollywood stuff- and came on this guy's playlist- just stumbled on it. he had some top- 'rated' playlist something or another- n it came from that................. thank u, sir. his name is Imran Q. on Ping.

Notes:: On Punjabi

I wanted to elaborate a little further on Punjabi/Bhangra music............... Ive had the luxury.......... of experiencing these songs- (outside)- the context of the Bollywood films they come from. and for that---- I'm just really glad. B/c (otherwise)-- I probly wouldnt like them as much. Thats why I see (fit)- you watch with eyes closed- thats pretty much all music- but specifically/ especially that. The music- is some of the most innovative I hear out there............... really pushes the limits/and boundaries....... of what's 'Pop'. I think, if there's a 'minimalism'..... in genre........... this would be the 'maxism'....... (the counterpart).


I feel like with this genre of music, I'm hearing 2 worlds, (or,, 2 eras rather)--- collide. I feel like I'm hearing these really ancient sounds............ but updated. It's an amazing, crossroads- of old meets new. I feel like I'm hearing, something from, 1000 years ago......... today. I think that is what I love most about this 'Bhangra'/ Eastern European techno thing............ the folk side to it. -there is a folk side- that gives it so much authenticity-- doeSn't get lost in the 'experimentation'- n so forth....... as so much 'experimental'- music does. There is a strong folk side- that I hear is my 'pattern'- lately-- in all the music I love and adore. I love hearing the old meets new- this crossroads- this collision- this reaching to the past- to bring it forward (to the present). Just because it's in the past/or ancient or whatever... doesnt mean it's 'done'. And I appreciate those that keep 'tradition'- while reinventing it (so well). This is a prime example.

.... it's still sort of in this 'mysterious'- i dont know what will happen w/it phase..................... n thats really xCITING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Punjabi kick, like no other.................................................. n (part of me)- thinks..... i always will be.






.............. i was listening tonite-- on pandora (i cANT stop listening!!!!!).... n some AR Rahman stuff came on.... Guru or something or another........................................... n i felt like............................. i was listening to the fUTURe.......................... it was really weird/surreall/ sort of out of body. i couldnt believe what i was listening to/my ears.................................... it was really insane, and, xciting!.................. i cant explain it. i really do (feel)- punjabi/bhangra, is the future of 'music'. in an insane way.......................... i hear it in the future/in pop music...................... i really do, (more). Toxic (britney spears)- is sort of an example of where it's 'begun'. (Strings). but i hear more of it. it really is, on 'to' something.................................................. n i am excited, and thrilled, to see what!........................... n will (be)- following it, like a hawk.............................. it is some of the most gorgeous, detailed, complex, rhythmically, just insane............................. music. ... not much else out there, (like it)- is happening. n i can't hail it enough. to Punjabi/Bhangra...................!!!!!

Lately.........................

I'm listening/have been listening to a lot of middle eastern/bhangra/punjabi.............. a LOT. i don't know what it is................................. sort of like my 'zumba' phase....................... (which isn't really a phase-but more, a 'self-discovery' -in music))-- b/c i still love 'zumba music'........... (n probly always will)......... anywho, yeah just listening to so mUCH middle eastern rhythms stuff..................... i really hear it/dream it-- in POP music..................... i do. ....... in a dream world-- middle eastern music abides in Pop.............. (more). there isn't enough, and i think that has some exploring to do. ......... part of me, wants to lock myself in a lab n (be the one)- to do this 'exploring'. it's kind of freaking me out (if i don't). i hear it................... it's on the tip of my................................................... tongue................................. ? ear?......

Also.......

In the past 2 (saturdays)-- I've heard more good music--than i think i have.......................... all year.



Been checking out a new station on 'pandora'--called 'bhangra'........... it's actually nOT what u think................... its a lot of unheard bands (ive literally nEVER heard of)--n like........... indie stuff........... with a little 'bhangra'--mixed in...... ha! anyway.... i sort of one day typed in 'bhangra' in to pandora..... (xpecting/'wanting'..bhangra/punjabi music)----n......... thats what came up................... this really under(under)-ground indie stuff............. thats................. a mazing..................n (i cant believe ive never heard of before)........................ namely: (i was introduced to)--Sin Fang, Takka Takka, lots of icelandic stuff (oddly enough), n some i cant remember right now

So i was thinking the other day..............................................................

................how, there should be a 'scholarship'-for those related/bloodline/of bjork/joanna newsom. .................there should be some kind of 'music scholarship'-for that. ....just as there are, for native american (indians)-n so forth...................................
