Twitter Is not Enough--------

I need to find a way to transpose- all my 'tweets'- on to facebook....... (timeline). - I'm considering opening a new (fb) account in order to do this........ in order to 'timeline' my music- as I've been so keen on- since 'timeline'- opened. That's all I was interested/ excited about it for....... (was to see my music timelined). - N that's it. My dilemma now is....... not- blogging it per se, but not blogging it 'enough'. Twitter is no longer 'enough' for me.......... I need a 'higher tech' way to blog it. In an ideal/ 'perfect' world....... the minute I 'blogged' or tweeted something music related........ it'd automatically get categorized by genre/ region etc. And across time- see those waves/ ebbs/ flows/ patterns. I want a highly mathematical graph of what it is I'm listening/ am in to, at any given moment. I need a 'higher tech' blog......... what we have in existence isn't enough. I feel glad I can instantly tweet something..... n what not........ but that is no longer enough. I hope/ am sured this is already in the works......... I mean--- it has to be. I'm sure there is an 'app' for this......... but, I doubt my blackberry carries any such app. Anyhow- that is the future of blogging/ how I see music blogging. More details basically- more math- more graphs- more conclusions n disclusions n findings. I think music is more telling of people/ humanity than we think/ is given credit for. ---

p.s.

I've written about this 'dilemma'- before....... it's somewhere in the netherworld of this blog.

In an ideal 'blog'- I could voice activate 'Twitter entry'- and the related blog (entry) would instantly appear.......... :) And I could (instantly)- show the former writing on the matter.

Today- I got my 100th Twitter Follower (@Impulsa1)

This is pivotal, for 2 reasons:

1. I never went on Twitter- to get 'followers'... I simply went on there, to blab, n go on about music. To 'get it out' get it off my chest so to speak. It was a 'cathartic' move- n i have never looked back since.

That said, it was shocking to me (at all)- I was getting anY followers. Twitter was born out of (this). I was making really short 'blurb' - entries sometimes- and I just realized--- 'hey that's a tweet'----- n so started Twitter.

2. This means that people, actually want to know what I am listening to (I guess).... that (to me)- is the utmost, ultimate 'flattery'. I won't lie- I am genuinely flattered/ and (flabbergasted)- in a good way, to know, that ppl............. want to know! It means, I'm doing somethinG, right in this, I like to see/ n know where ears align.. I hope, n can only hope- that ppl have been introduced to some great stuff through me. Twitter is sort of morphing (for me)- and also, becoming my comedy blog. I thought about setting up a different account for this- but I just don't want to. I want it all 'in one place'--- a testament to 'both'- so to speak. It's so true what they say about comedy n music.... n let my Twitter be a testament to that, (I hope).

So......................... that said, thank you to my 100th, follower (@Impulsa1)- haha, u have really shocked me!... (Then again, I was shocked/ confused, at 39). I'll never understand why ppl 'follow' me- but I am happy, and ........ it cant be a bad thing i guess, right? ... Thanks twitter followers!..... I hope I make you laugh, ..... n jam out! I am a missionary of muzic! Viva twitta! ... Peace

.............. N for exact date 'purposes'--- it was actually 4/5/12- that this occurred. ...... But it is shortly after midnight here.............. so............... anyhow- I'm sure this number will drop back to 99 in 5-4-3-2.......... hahahah.

Reliving:

....... a guy posted about new Chromatics- tonight, on Twitter---- n it made me think of this.

I remember this song well, introduced to me by a friend of mine--- it was her 'Myspace profile' - song for a while.. n i fell in love with it/ loved it.

Anyway- checked out their new song tonight- n it's..... meh.

I realized, the biggest difference, between (old me)- n (new me)----- is.... i dont go seeking out (new)- music anymore. It comes to me. I used to be an aggressive 'finder'- n in some ways, (I still am). But not to the extent I was. Music is mY bitch now (so to speak). It finds me, n i have to trust that- or else i freak out. It's a faith i have/ live by (now)..... that i didnt so much before... n have kind of 'grown in to'. I guess a maturity so to speak. I let the music find me, and it does, and I just dont go aggressively seeking it anymore. I have other things to do n simply can't, n i have a new faith it will find me. I have to remind myself of this (almost every day).

Something I've been thinking/going in my head lately.... is 'why do ppl do drugs'....... with so much great music in the world....... 'why do ppl do drugs'. I myself, have never done them (thats no lie)- but i just wonder..... with such a high it brings....... I dont really understand the need for drugs.

Listening lately to::::: whatever's running on my Pandora. i dont have an ipod anymore :( .... so, its just whatevers circling on there...... Lately: some good imogen heap, KT tunstall, adele (some good live stuff), norah jones, this girl erin mcCarley (song 'pony'), i really like (n i hate to admit)..... but if u'r not admitting u are lyinG, ive decided........... is.......... drum roll...................................................... justin bieberrrrrrRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR..... (boyfriend)....... yes i have fallen victim to that song, it was love at first 'listen'. i remember first time i heard it, about a wk ago i guess. i was in my bed, n literally woke up to it on the radio- haha. anyhow- its a great tune. damn catchy. reminds me of justin timberlake actually. hope more sounds like (that). #noshame. #well, a little.

This is Completely off- 'Kilter'- for me.....

i want to pose some questions:

(regarding Facebook/ Twitter)--- mostly Facebook.

So i got the thought this morning- is Facebook skewing our perceptions, of relationships? ..... What with all the 'liking', the like buttons n what not..... friends (u dont really talk to anymore)- but care to keep up with, asking you to 'like' their page n what not..... friends, maybe u (dont)- like anymore- but for whatever reason- havent (deleted).

Anyway- it just got me thinking about relationships, and the 'appearance' of them, and the 'skewed' perception (of them)- that i think Facebook brings.

i'm not calling this 'good or bad'- i'm not calling it 'out'. Just an observation. thats all.

i was a communication/media major in college so...... its my inner academia nerd coming out.....

listening to....... ! i heard a really good Sia 'breath me' remix last night!... (Mylo i believe).

Also- KT tunstall, 'Uummannaq Song'---- realllyyyyyyyyyyyyy good.

Anywho- you , (i'm finding, ) you 'like' their page... more n more... b/c as you go along........ you (of course)- want the same in return.......... (when its your turn)....... n.......... (even if u dont really talk to them anymore).

Anyway- just something interesting i'm observing as i go along.
An interesting dynamic

Hmmmm... I dont Know where to Begin:

I've had a lot on my mind (musically)- lately. First off: I have a confession: I switched- n started listening to KT Tunstall radio on Pandora. (*********GASPPPPPPPPPPPPP*****). This is the first, in a departure from 'Punjabi Girl'- radio. (and.. i gotta admit: it feels good). It feels really good to hear guitars again. There's definitely a yin n yang at work here.

Anyhow: its taking me back to the 90s, girl acoustic guitars n such, n i love it- n am nostalgic.

Also: ive been thinking lately how much I belong- in a 'music think tank'. Not in the 'industry' sense. But in the, 'app', technological sense. What's funny is- I have NO background in computers/ technology- nothing of the sort- no skill set there. Yet, all of my ideas (musically)- are technology based. Its frustrating (to say the least). All of these ideas/ concepts/ n no where to put them/ nothing to do with them/ all in my 'head'. It's to the point though where: that's not enough, and I wish to pursue these ideas aggressively. Sort of become my 'mission'. Conceptual is no longer enough. I have no idea where to begin- but plan to do 'something about it'. Twitter/ the face of 'blogging' as we know it- is about to change (if I have any control). Twitter is no longer enough for me. I need a new way to 'blog' pin my music- I was thinking this morning how 'Pinterest' might quench my thirst- but only for a while. Even that wouldnt be enough: my 'latest': a 'Voice blog'. so like 'Siri'- for music blogging. I hear a song, i like it, i wanna write about it- i'm out on the road or whatever/ doin what i'm doin/ n so i 'voice blog' it- n it blogs it for me. I need that. I need blogging to be that accessible n seamless. I cant always wait til I have a moment to 'sit down at the computer'- (and I think most ppl dont). Anyway: that is where I'm at musically. Also, been checking my 'Google stats' recently...... ha!....... didnt know I had any readers (1.)- and 2. didn't know many of them are in Russia!!???........ very interesting to say the least. N Ukraine too- so fascinating. Not many, but there are some, and any of it surprises me. I currently have 89 followers in Twitter too- n that is equally fascinating surprising. Fact that anyOne wants to read/ know what I'm listening to is the 'ultimate'. N totally flattering. Anywho: I belong in a music think tank somewhere... I want to go swimming in that. Put on my fins, n dive..

I was thinking this morning how: in a dreamworld: I wish facebook would let you timeline your music (n Only your music).

currently listening to: guitars! My friend Caitlin Schneiderman. n RIP Whitney Houston.........

Sidenotes: On Twitter (my 'music map extension')

Twitter is no longer enough for me to plot my music.......................................... it (used to be). it was a way for me to (either)- quickly remind myself of something/a song i liked.............. or write a shorter blib on a thought i was having (on a song). ----N for this, it is useful. But................ I got to thinking.................. and Twitter, (nor Blogger here)--- is enough for me (anymore). I need a new/different way to be able to 'plot' my music................ to 'plant' it so to speak................... on a 'map'. --(literally). I've had this idea for a while now.................. (a 'music map')--- and I guess I need to talk to some engineers/have engineer/more IT friends. I havent the slightest clue how to 'make it'. Only concept. But.......... basically.............. it'd be a software/app......... whereby, it'd 'plot' your music- but in a more detailed way. Listing instruments, place/origin of band n so forth.............. then, on a (collective)- level. -I'm interested in seeing this data 'gathered'. So.............. over time................ we see which genres win 'out' so to speak......... in which places. I'm interested in the geography/collectivity/patterns happening in music, across/abroad... over time. This is the geek(ier)- in me.

ok, so twitter is no longer enough..(&is currently 'overwhelming' me)

so, i'm taking to this..currently feeling overwhelmed by twitter--and its plethora of 'good' info. there are times i just simply cant take it. everything seems interesting and i wanna read it all (and i wanna 'run away'). anyway, i'm taking to here b/c i cant fit what i have to say in twitter-the reason for this in the 1st place.

first (random): not sure what i think of new walkmen 'stranded'-something i like about it, reminds me of a paolo nutini song sort of. not a walkmen 'fan' or anything, but something i do like about them. cant put my finger on it.

next, learning about sugar minott (RIP)--how he pioneered dancehall and such.

now, i am just looking back, appreciating the pre-'twitter'/blog days, when artists went into studios, came out with a new album, and some filmmaker somewhere made documentaries about it (AFTER the fact). something i appreciate about that old-school approach, where every move, day in the studio, the process isnt tweeted about. i appreciate the mystery surrounding that process.

at the same time, i do enjoy reading these very things-these little anecdotes from times in the studio on tour etc. what THEY'RE listening to. i feel 2 ways about it i guess, but ultimately, the old-school, the 'mystery' is my favorite. joanna newsom, is on to something..i think its come full circle sort of and she represents that time in the past, and i just appreciate that. i feel more artists should look to her when it comes to releasing their album. (& keeping it underwraps) and i know ive already said this, but to me was worthing repeating. and nothing against these things, this is just a personal preference of mine. i think arcade fire did an OK job of protecting their recording process, this lead-up time..

this is a good article/interview:

i hate that i have to c/p, but i couldnt fit what i had to say in '150 characters or less' (see i told u i'm still on here!), and i didnt wanna tweet w/out giving my thots on it, so..i'm putting it here. anyway, what i wanted to say about it, was, how its interesting b/c it usually happens the other way around (punk THEN pop, or 'poppier' punk), as i made in the comments..anyway, i'm very glad to read this, very refreshing, as i never quite felt the riot grrl movement was done. oh and i am kind of digging 'do wah doo'

i dont really know why i'm posting this, but..they have potential..(harp!)

i like it i just dont love it

came from here:http://mog.com/Oatmeal/blog/1998795

also, sort of non-related, but still on my mind--i have been tweeting a lot more lately. ive noticed, its made me lazy on here haha. no its just so convenient, a quick mark/reminder for me, more than anything else, of music on my radar, and to quickly shout out to my fav. artists and so forth. anyway, i only use it as a 'secondary music blog', but i find, i'm thinking, in '150 characters or less' so..trying to keep a distance too and discipline myself to keep writing about music long-form, how/why i came on here in the first place. its becoming more of a conscious efffort now due to twitter, nothing against it, i just have to be more conscientious now basically and make the time..this is why i'm thinking of finally upgrading my fone! haha! (i still have one of the first Nokias ever made)
