this is the first live vid. i'm seeing of her! i really love it about the 1:00 mark and after..but it mainly serves as a reminder that i MUST learn the drums...i love how her music is SO percussion-based..she sorta reminds me of tom vek in that way, sorta like a female tom vek..

and in other 'news'..i'm mourning the loss of many of my songs..i dont know what happened, they're gone from my itunes library...

so i just heard new heidi montag ('superficial')...............um am i really writing an entry about this?lol, no but really, put the vocals on mute, its not a half bad song..nice beatz etc. oh and i just saw lady gaga's leno performance, i really REALLY like 'bad romance'..and yes i am still obsessing over Ellie Goulding!

she also reminds me of imogen heap, like an 80s one, like if u put kate bush w/imogen heap or something

that puts the UK on the map again (for me anyway) as far as pioneering/my current favorites..The XX, Micachu and the Shapes, NEON HITCH, now her (Ellie G)..i'm sure theres more, those are first that come to my head

always saddens me..when a song does nothing for you, that you loved so much...same thing happened w/outkast (Hey Ya)....and many others...i just listen and listen and listen, it nourishes for awhile, then..drains. i guess it is like bjork says, pop is disposable but is still of value, u should be able to listen to something then throw it away (move on basically, embrace the future)...i'll listen again! just not for awhile..its a beautiful day, out i go!

so, i'm really digging this band Fever Ray..the song 'Triangle Walks' and even more specifically the Tiga mix..but it finally hit me who her voice reminds me of..Regine Chassagne of Arcade Fire!..and musically, Siouxsie & the Banshees, Kate Bush and The Chromatics..fever for Fever Ray! her voice also reminds me a little of Joanna Newsom..i discovered them last nite on Music Choice T.V.

the guy on the aimee mann duet (sean hayes), reminds me of antony..about the 1:40 mark it does..he also breaks into this awesome trumpet piece..with his voice!

ok, i know this is really random..but i'm starting to compile a list of 'greatest intros'..i've always thought 'Gimme Shelter' would top this somewhere (i've been listening to it a lot lately, i only like the intro though).

and on a sidenote: how can such a great intro turn so sour? i'm not saying its a bad song or anything, i'm just saying i hear that a lot, where a song does not live up to its stellar opening..or the reverse, like w/Justin Timberlake..many of 'Future..', i only like the ENDINGS..ha!

Motel Motel..

so, lately i've been listening to a lot of 'motel motel'. it's a merkaba bandits song that alex sort of redid/took solo, but i'm preferring the early version..ive found i have a lot of thoughts on his music..not sure why. i guess overall i just think the bandits stuff (his harder stuff) is his strongest. it's weird talking about him in the 3rd person like this, my friend..but i try to be as honest w/this blog as possible and this happens to be what i'm mulling over at the moment. the new version is pretty much the same, only my problem w/it is it feels rushed. i feel kinda stupid, b/c there's no way for anyone to know what the hell i'm talking about right now, i guess i'm basically thinking out loud, i've had this in me for awhile..anyway, the new demo feels rushed. i prefer the old one by FAR. but who am i, thats just my opinion, i guess it's b/c i love the song so much i hate to see it redone, only to not progress it..anyway, yeah he's, in the name of pop, i guess he's lost something, i mean..i just find myself jamming out to the early stuff more..i miss the punk aspect (I MISS BANDITS SHOWS!). nothing against pop, it's just what he did best, to me:) dont get me wrong though, his solo shows are a blast, i'm just reminiscing right now

so, i finally found out who that duet is with on the Aimee Mann song..AND the title ('Ballantine')...SEAN HAYES! omg i love his voice, he sounded like somebody to me when i first heard it, couldnt think of who but anyways it's some dude named Sean Hayes, i cant stop listening to him, his voice........
